Why wasn’t there any aerial fire equipment used in Maui? I live in California and every time there’s a fire there’s supertankers and super scoopers in the air that use local water sources from ocean or lake to douse fires with tons of gallons of water. This is an island surrounded by water lots of opportunity for aerial equipment. So many questions.

Started at 6am and all over by 6:15am, there would have been no time to deploy. I think it was a wednesday too, hump day, knowing it be the laziest day for public employees.

What I find most troubling for all the talk about the 'winds' on the videos you can see people in the water chest deep taking selfies, and yet there are no wind-waves on the water, only a little chop.

Had there been +80mph winds the waves would have been 6-10 feet and breaking

IMHO all the wind seen during the fire was updraft from the fires which began in core of city and pulled the air into the inferno
