We all operate socially under a risk/reward dynamic, and physically under a risk tolerance, risk-adverse threshold; those of us who find ourselves being committed to truth and reason, by way of intellectual honesty tend to view life within a dynamic of opportunity cost projection + stoic probabilism. For me personally there is little I would not do to fight the forces of darkness; but as a dad/parent of small children I know that I will likely play an entirely different game if the threat to my kids became physical, or real in a very tangible way. I personally default to stoic rationality & Christlike love; but to protect my kids, there is a good chance I play a much darker game while attempting to keep them in the light. I daily strive to be of the light-triad; but I know if my worldview is broken, my children violated, I very well could emerge a very different man.
