AI Update: It's time we start covering this rapidly emerging and dangerous technology. Kind of like nuclear energy... with the power to both create AND destroy (subtly). Pay attention!
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” - Eliezer Yudkowsky
The Latin aphorism above seems very apt in describing all the hype and expectations surrounding the rapidly emerging technology known as “Artificial Intelligence” or, more simply, AI.
I’m certainly no expert, but I have begun to experiment with AI in the form of Chat GPT. My early results have been mixed, however, it’s definitely capable of doing some impressive work and providing insights.
Having said that, Chat GPT (and ALL the other soon to be released to the public AI portals) are ONLY as good as the basic instructions they’ve been programmed with by their inventors.
NOTE: It’s preeminently clear Chat GPT has a “woke” bias. For example, when I asked it to enumerate the adverse effects of the COVID-19 vaccines, I basically got the expected official narrative answer that while certain adverse effects might happen, they were rare occurrences and that it’s advisable to stay fully-vaccinated.
Utter bullshit!
Further, in working with the Chat GPT portal, it became super apparent to me that it would very easy to use AI to influence folks very subtly with “dark” or demonic suggestions. If you need an example of this look no further than the arc of the story involving the HAL 9000 AI computer featured in Stanley Kubrick’s film classic 2001: A Space Odyssey.
HAL 9000 (from 2001: A Space Odyssey)
HAL was not the first example of evil Artificial Intelligence (AI) on film, but he marked a watershed moment. Suddenly, homicidal computers were within our grasp, never again to be confined solely to the imagination of paranoid sci-fi writers.

What is consciousness? ChatGPT and advanced AI might redefine our answer
Technologists broadly agree that AI chatbots are not self-aware just yet, but there is some thought that we may have to re-evaluate how we talk about sentience.

'If We Go Ahead On This, Everyone Will Die' Warns AI Expert Calling For Absolute Shutdown
Human beings are not ready for a powerful AI under present conditions or even in the “foreseeable future,” stated a foremost expert in the field, adding that the recent open letter calling for a six-month moratorium on developing advanced artificial intelligence is “understating the seriousness of the situation.”

Is AI Trustworthy? ChatGPT Falsely Accused Jonathan Turley of Sexual Harassment
Fox News contributor and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley is raising the alarm about the dangers of artificial intelligence’s (AI) political bias and false claims after he was wrongly accused of sexual harassment by ChatGPT. AI could be a real threat to free speech, he said.
Turley wrote an April 3 piece for USA Todaytitled, “ChatGPT falsely accused me of sexually harassing my students. Can we really trust AI?” Turley wrote, “What is most striking is that this false accusation was not just generated by AI but ostensibly based on a Washington Post article that never existed.” [Emphasis added].
AI seemingly generated false accusations for two other law professors, too, Turley added.

Beyond ChatGPT: 14 Mind-Blowing AI Tools Everyone Should Be Trying Out Now
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is going through something of a “hot topic” moment, as applications such as ChatGPT show the world just how powerful and capable it is becoming.
The emergence of this new breed of “generative” AI tools has made it clear in recent months that it is no longer something that is only important in the realm of academic research or Silicon Valley tech giants.
And far from simply being the latest "viral sensation," AI has truly become a technology that any business or individual can leverage to revolutionize the way they work or go about any number of day-to-day activities.
So, what are the tools that everyone should be getting to grips with to ensure they understand exactly what AI is capable of today?
I’ve picked out some of the most important ones to highlight how you can start using them today.
